Countryside is located in eastern Loudoun County, about 30 miles northwest of Washington, DC. About four square miles in size, it is bordered by the Potomac River to the north, Potomac Falls to the east, Sterling to the south and Ashburn to the west.

The Countryside Pond, located between the Oak Ridge and Belmont neighborhoods is another serene place to kick back and relax. The pond is swimming with largemouth bass and other aquatic species and is open for fishing with a catch and release policy.
Countryside’s green gem of natural beauty is Horsepen Run Stream Valley Park, right off of Algonkian Parkway. This 370-acre tract of undeveloped land is protected as a wetland and wildlife preserve and is the ideal place to lose yourself in the great outdoors. While strolling the many winding paths, you might spot a salamander, or maybe a turtle or some tadpoles swimming in the pools of water by the wetlands. There are many picnic benches so you can enjoy a peaceful lunch right by the Potomac River, and during the fall the burning reds and bright yellows of the leaves make for a breathtaking sight.

Countryside residents are only a quick trip away from the many delicious restaurants Sterling has to offer. For a night of trying something new, check out A Taste of Burma, located on Edds Lane. With food made with an abundance of flavors, you are in for a treat at the husband and wife-run restaurant. Though it seems small, it is elegantly decorated with gold embroidery and the atmosphere is warm and inviting.
For exotic cuisine and cocktails, head on over to Sortrel Thai Restaurant and Bar. Dine in at the casual sit-down area or order out to enjoy your meal at home. Either way, service here is known for being friendly and fast! The lunch specials here are an amazing bang for your buck. Get a hearty meal for a decent price with a side salad and roll of your choice.
O’Faolain’s Irish Restaurant and Bar is the perfect destination if you are looking for a fun night out or dinner with friends. The bartenders here are always friendly and known for their speedy service. On the weekends, the restaurant usually hosts live music or DJs, and for warm nights there is an outdoor bar that always offers an upbeat, lively experience.
Traveling Through Town and Beyond
Getting from Countryside out to the surrounding areas is no sweat. The community is right off of Route 7, making it easy to drive to Dulles Town Center, Potomac Falls and other towns in Loudoun. Getting into DC is also easy, as Route 7 connects directly to Route 267, which will take you directly into the city. Looking to take a vacation? Dulles International Airport is only nine miles away.
